On the 19th, 20th and 21st of November at Faculty of Journalism there will be the demostrations of the movies done by the young filmmakers within the competitive programme of XXXII International Festival of All-Russia State University of Cinematography Named After S.A. Gerasimova (VGIK).
The first festival of students' films was held in All-Union State Institute of Cinematograpgy (Moscow) in 1961 and the winners of that Festival were the following students - Andrey Konchalovsky, Elem Klimov and Mikhail Kobakhidze. During 32 years of holding the Festival in the hard competitions with fellow students the winners were: S. Solovev, N. Gubenko, N. Mikhalkov, V. Abdrashitov, A. Mindadze, V. Fokin, A. Melikyan, P. Buslov, A. Mizgirev, A. German-Junior, S. Ross. Now they are very famous filmmakers. The jury of the Festival was headed by S. Bondarchuk, L. Kulidzhanov, T. Lioznova, V. Grammatikov, V. Merezhko, A. Uchitel, S. Snezhkin, V. Menshov and many other famous masters of Russian cinematorgaphy.
Starting from XVII the Festival got the status of International and became annual. On the 19th of November this year it will be the 32nd time whin VGIK opens the Festival in Moscow Dom Kino. Altogether with Moscow the works of young filmmakers can be seen by St. Petersbourg, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, Orel, Tula, Tver, Pskov and, of course, Chelyabinsk.

November 21, Wednesday — 15:30 — 19:00 / room 1001.
All Chelyabinsk cinemagoers and also the cinemagoers of other Russian cities can take part in choosing the winner in the nomination "Audience Award". In order to do it you need to watch the competitive programme of the Festival and vote for the best film from the 19th to 22nd of November. The results of voting (per each city) will be announced at the closing ceremony of the Festival in Moscow on the 24th of November. Besides, every day the viewers of the Festival films can write their film reviews which will be further sent to Moscow. The best film reviews will be published in special collection of Festival reviews. The most active viewer of each city will get a Prize of Organising Committee! That is why the motto of XXXII International Festival of VGIK is "Come, watch, vote for the best film and get prize!".
