Representatives of SUSU Trade Union Committee are winners of All-Russian students' self-government contest

On February 5-9 the All-Russian contest of students’ self-government took place in Rostov-on-Don. The event was divided into three major parts.

The first part was the last stage of the contest of the best activity organization of students’ self-government institutions. More than 300 requests were sent from all parts of Russia to participate in the contest but there were only a few which were admitted.

South Ural State University was represented in 4 nominations at once – the best system of informational work management at the higher educational institution (SUSU information committee), the best project of students’ entertainment and cultural-mass work organization (creative union ‘Perspectiva’), the best project of hostel life organization (“University Campus – territory of comfort, progress and  healthy lifestyle”) and the best project of education quality improvement (system of students’ supervision). The expert committee highly assessed our presentations and also emphasized their effective and creative value. The results of such a fruitful teamwork were two prize-winning places: the 1st place was taken by SUSU Informational Committee, the 2nd – by the creative union ‘Perspectiva’.

The second part of All-Russian contest was devoted to the seminar meeting with the chairmen of United Councils of University Students – the winners of the competitive selection among the development programs of student unions activity. The representatives of 95 higher educational institutions met to discuss the most urgent issues. The most current issues were accession of Artem Khromchev to the post of Authorized Agent of Students’ Rights and establishment of the position of Rector’s Advisor for Youth Policy. Besides, there was the presentation of reports concerning the activity in 2012. As the result of those presentations SUSU joined the best five universities in the following nominations: “Students’ Entertainment Organization”, “International Relations” and “Promotion of Civism and Patriotism”. SUSU also joined the Top-5 considering the number of carried out events.

The third part was devoted to the winter school of All-Russian camp of active students “Leader of XXI Century”. The aim of the camp is to train the leaders and heads of the students’ self-government, exchange the experience and help in the further development of Students’ Self-Government Institutions.

According to Olga Aleynikova, Darya Pupysheva, Darya Vasileva, Ayrat Sharipov, Yuliya Tigrova and Ildar Kharisov, representatives of SUSU Trade Union Committee, the journey turned not only into the victory and confirmed the fact that our University followed the right direction but it also allowed to get acquainted with a lot of new people.
