On March 15-17 South Ural State University held II Open Youth Championship of Chelyabinsk in short managerial battles and V Open Youth Championship (Anniversary) of the city in managerial battles. The famous technologies of Vladimir Tarasov “Managerial Duel” and “Express Battle”, which were used in Russia and CIS and were recognized in the USA as the unique technologies in the world, were taken as a basis.
More than 50 people took part in the elimination round of the Championship. The students of South Ural State University, Chelyabinsk State University, Russian Academy of Justice (Chelyabinsk branch), South Ural Professional Institute, University of Russian Education Academy (Chelyabinsk branch), Chelyabinsk State Agroengineering Academy, South Ural State Institute of Arts named after Chaykovsky and school children of the city got the experience in carrying out negotiations within the business game and in fighting for hypothetic property and resources.
In the course of Championship the participants were offered to resolve difficult and conflict situations where they acted as people with opposite interests and tried to come to a compromise within some determined period of time demonstrating their leadership skills and negotiating experience. “Managerial Duel” is a game technology which trains to maintain relations, avoid conflict situations, respect and understand the position of other part, improve the professional, communicative and managerial skills.
“Art of acting forms a man. The more plays a person is able to perform it will be easier for him or her to determine the relations and cooperation with people of any social status, customs and any mentality” (V. Tarasov). In the course of managerial duels the students learnt the methods and technology of successful intercepting and holding of the control as the life of any active person, manager of any status, businessman, politician or student, is full of various events. Also the guys learnt not only how to fight but how to stay apart of some conflict situations which might be harmful for both parties (such situations happen very often in the real life).
The winner of II Open Youth Championship of Chelyabinsk became Dmitry Ovakimyan (High School №80), the second place was taken by Andrey Voskoboynik (SUSU Power Engineering Faculty, second-year student) and the third place was taken by Irina Vlasova (SUSU Economics and Entrepreneurship Faculty, fourth-year student). V Open Youth Championship of Chelyabinsk in managerial battle was won also by Dmitry Ovakimyan, the second place was taken by Mariya Gnedkova (SUSU International Relations Faculty, second-year student) and third place – Nikolay Olkhovsky (Chelyabinsk State University).
The Championship experience showed the great interest not only on the part of the participants but also on the part of the partners; the jury comprised the representatives of large and medium-size companies of Chelyabinsk which were interested in young specialists.
