Thomson Reuters Expert Told SUSU Scientists How to Turn the University into a World Brand

February 5 during ‘Science SUSU’ forum occasioned with the celebration of the Day of Russian Science the expert of Thomson Reuters international company, Sergei Paramonov, told professors of the scientific community of SUSU about the development prospects of the university in the 5 - 100 Project and explained the details and principles of working with the world search platform Web of Science.

Sergei Paramonov has highlighted the growing professional requirements to the professors and teaching staff of the university in connection with entering the ‘5-100’ Project and the need to increase the amount of publications in prestigious international scientific journals indexed in the scientific world of search platforms Scopus and Web of Science.

The expert has also highlighted the most promising scientific branches which are now particularly relevant in Russia and in the world. ‘For scientists of SUSU, particularly for young professionals, it is now especially important to ‘catch the wave’ to find a niche in which they can be actively published,’ - said Sergei Paramonov.

Particular attention is paid to methodology of organization of Web of Science system, adaptation of scientific material to BCG matrix (Boston Consulting Group), the importance of impact-factor, and other fundamental terminological points.

On the final meeting the expert wished SUSU scientists to actively increase the number of joint international publications which is surely going to grow in quality over time and ultimately will enhance the global competitiveness of the University in the international arena.
