Master’s Degree Students from Iraq Represented SUSU at the Student Conference

The SUSU master’s degree students from Iraq have made reports in English at the II Scientific and Practical Student Conference Language, Culture and Communication in the Modern Society at the South Ural State Medical University.

Bahaa Al-Garravi, Mohammed Rashid and Faisal Aljarian demonstrated their professional skills of public speaking and academic presentation, gathered while taking the master’s degree courses ‘Philology (Theory and Practice of English)’. The reports of future masters were focused on topical linguistic problems. Therefore, they kindled the interest of the audience and were highly praised by the Conference organizers.

“Without any doubt, this conference is a valuable experience for our master’s students, as it enabled them to demonstrate their professional competence. In the framework of the course ‘English for Professional Communication’ they learn how to deliver a speech at a scientific conference, make presentations, ask questions correctly. They even know how to react to unexpected questions. This knowledge has been useful at this conference and proved the students’ high level of competence,” - notes the associate professor of the Department of Foreign Languages Evgenia Khabirova.
