The SUSU Center of Computer Engineering Joins an Import Phaseout Program

 

The SUSU Center of Computer Engineering is dedicated to working on import phaseouts as a result of engineering developments for Russian companies. One of the main goals of the center is to develop on-board drive trains, driving axles, hydromechanical transmissions for Russian mechanical loaders, graders, cars, and track machines.

Why is this needed? First, today hydromechanical transmissions of international manufacture are used most of all in transport technologies, and developments by the center’s engineers will help change this situation. Second, developments will simplify means of transport, remove the possibility of involuntary engine stoppage, allow for increased momentum on drive wheels, and, as a result, increase the service life for transmissions and engines.

Development of hydromechanical transmissions at the Center will be carried out using modern materials and manufacturing methods. The engineers will achieve the optimal balance between price and quality. According to lead constructor of the CCE, Vladimir Byvaltsev, this is possible thanks to computer simulations, taking into account university researchers’ experience and developments.

The Center of Computer Engineering will not just develop construction documentation, but also enable the production, testing, and debugging of their developments. In other words, the center will create a project ready for serial production.

The CCE’s first project within import phaseouts is the development of a hydromechanical transmission for the front loader TL-150. The technical and economical documents have been developed, the technical specifications were agreed upon, and engineering evaluations are being worked out. The development of construction documentation will be completed before June. The Ural Mechanical Factory, the Center’s partner, will take up the creation of developmental prototypes, and testing – by the client. To reduce the time for the project’s completion, the technological documentation will be completed simultaneously alongside the construction documentations.

The next project of the Center of Computer Engineering for import phaseouts will be the development of drive-steer axles and transmissions for a loader excavator.
