“Let’s Go!”: Future Cosmonauts Were Selected at SUSU

Today the event “Let’s Go!” dedicated to a Cosmonautics Day has been held during a midday break in the main building of SUSU.

“April 12th is a special day not only for our Faculty, but the whole mankind. In order of importance it comes after the Victory Day (May 9), because this holiday means that our country is a world power, says Vasily Salich, Dean of the Aerospace Faculty.

The registered participants could be selected for space flight. They had an opportunity to check their vestibular apparatus, memory and ability to make life-or-death decisions. The top prize was a set of food for real cosmonauts. A Sudanese student Khamid became the holder of this prize. All those who were present today could take part in interactive competitions, quizzes on the topic of space and a lottery with memorable postcards and gift certificates.

The international chorus consisting of Chinese and Sudanese students, who study in the Institute of Linguistics and International Commination, congratulated the guests on this holiday and sang a song “Trava u doma” (Grass near the house). The event attendees and participants joined in singing with pleasure.

The celebration of Cosmonautics Day at SUSU will continue on April 12 at 12.00 in the square in front of the main building, where there will be a flash mob devoted to the first flight of man in space and the 60th anniversary of the Aerospace Faculty.
