Participants of the Club Tournament of the Association of Student Sports Clubs Arrived in Chelyabinsk

 

The first day of the thirteenth All-Russian Club Tournament of the Association of Student Sports Club Russia wrapped up in the capital of the South Ural Region.

The All-Russian Club Tournament of the ASSC Russia began in Chelyabinsk. More than 220 people from 28 teams from all around the country gathered at SUSU.

The first day, as participants say, was packed. They didn’t just get situated at their hotels in the city, but they also got to know the capital of the South Ural region. In the daytime, the teams set out on an excursion to the city center with their guides.

“The level of hospitality in Chelyabinsk surprised me. When we exited the train, volunteers, our guides, were already there to meet us. Throughout the day, they told us about the city, showed it to us, didn’t let us get bored, showed us various parks. In the first day we were able to get to know the majority of Chelyabinsk’s sights,” said Aleksandr Petrov, student of the I. Yakovlev Chuvash State Pedagogical University, sharing his feelings. 

For Aleksandr, the format of the tournament was something new:

“Competitions in a few kinds of sports are being held in a new format, for example, orienteering, but the new conditions don’t bother us. I am waiting for victory – after all, that’s what we all came for. Our team intends to win, we are hoping for worthy competitors – let the strongest win!”

Participant from SSK Vityaz from Kurgan, Ivan Belyaev, is sure that it’s not only important to win, but also to enjoy the forum.

“I am waiting to meet a lot of new, interesting people and positive emotions. We have sport events, a fight between teams. We will try to get to know one another. The main thing is to have a good time and meet new people.”

In the evening, after a packed day, the participants met with famous Cheyabinsk and Chelyabinsk region athletes in a casual atmosphere. World and European champions, titled athletes, and a member of the Paralympic Team gathered at Sigma. The masters shared the histories of their success and gave a few pieces of parting advice.

“Even if you really want to throw everything away, don’t let your head down completely,” advises master of sport international class in kickboxing, Viktor Mikhailov.

      At the end of the evening, charged by the insightful stories from the life of sport, the visitors were able to share their own successes at the acquaintance party and better get to know the schedule of events. The teams were told about the coming challenges and further plans for developing ASSC Russia.
