SUSU Delegation Successfully Completes its Work at a Business Forum in Kyrgyzstan

The business forum Chelyabinsk Region Days has wrapped up in Bishkek. The SUSU delegation, working within the official delegation for the region headed by the governor, gave us a summary of the visit.

“The key goals that we set before ourselves in working within the Chelyabinsk region delegation in Bishkek were building academic partnership, exchanging opinions, and looking for conceptual variables for the development of international projects for cultural, humanitarian, and economic partnership among youth,” stressed the vice-rector of international affairs, professor Viktor Katochkov.

During the forum, agreements for partnership with leading universities of Kyrgyzstan were signed. Kyrgyzstan State University of Construction, Transportation, and Architecture, Kyrgyzstan State Technical University named after I. Razzakov, the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, and the Bishkek Humanities University are new partners of our university.

There official talks, heated debates about trends in education, and warm informal chats with the leadership of Kyrgyz universities. The SUSU delegation noted the genuine interest of the Kyrgyz universities in programs for academic mobility, joint research work, and strengthening partnership for training specialists for the economies of our countries.

There was also a panel discussion organized by SUSU and the socio-economic development fund Eurasian Community at the Academy of Management under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic dedicated to paths of development for inter-regional relationships between Russia and Kyrgyzstan. Politicians, political scientists, and economists from Russia and Kyrgyzstan also took part in the discussions. They debated paths for strengthening economic stability of the country in the context of international geopolitical challenges and Eurasian integration, and analyzed methods of minimizing economic risks thanks to trade and economic partnership of the regions.

Speaking to members of the discussion, Viktor Katochkov noted that its topic “reflects the densest issues of development for Russia and Kyrgyzstan within the EEU – alignment of economic projects at the regional level and training specialists for the rapid economic development of our countries.

Professor of the  Academy of Management under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Eldar Samigullin, developing this thought, noted that partnership between Russia and Kyrgyzstan become strategic after the countries' entrance into the EEU.

“Russia's huge market opened for Kyrgyzstan, however, it was necessary to pay attention to regional markets first and foremost. One of such markets could be the South Ural region. I'm sure that this visit by our governor will allow the business society to see the economic and investment potential for partnership,” noted the expert.

In addition, as his colleague, professor Ayatkan Orozbaeva stressed, the key to effective partnership between our countries is our common cultural heritage and academic dialog. “The area of academics must become an essential part of integration.

Participants of these discussions came to the conclusion that the most important condition for strengthening economic stability must be the development of manufacturing, transport, and social infrastructure for Russia and Kyrgyzstan within the EEU. There must be discussion on the joint completion of integration projects, in which the EEU will play the role of the basic mechanism ensuring the economic safety of the Central Asian region.
