The exhibition “Sustainable tourism – a tool for the region’s development” has opened

On September 25, 2017 on the ground of the Department of Tourism and Socio-Cultural Service of the SUSU Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service and the exhibition center of Nationalities and Technology of the South Urals started the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the World Tourism Day.

This year, the exhibition dedicated to the Tourism Day takes place for the first time. It is organized by the efforts of the SUSU Department of Tourism and Socio-Cultural Service, where the main recent achievements of the Department are presented. The Department in turn is the classic school of tourism at the Ural Federal District, as exactly this department became the initiator of tourism education in the region. Besides, the exhibition displays the main works of students for the entire period: graduation thesis and research papers.

“Today the conference ‘Tourism: education for everyone’ dedicated to international internships of our students in European countries and Russian cities took place. I am satisfied with the event as it left vivid emotions because our students demonstrated high level of work. They study and practice tourism for a reason!” says Associate Professor of the SUSU Department of Tourism and Socio-Cultural Service Tatyana Bay.

Second-year student of the Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service Nikita Basenik within the conference told about his internship at a Spanish island. Any student could envy his interesting and informative activity.

“My internship was very efficient and interesting. The Golden Sphere Company sent applications to the university for recruiting students for an internship abroad. I have never been to other countries or at sea, so I decided to try myself within the internship. The experience turned out to be very positive: the team was very friendly and always ready to help if something went wrong for me. This internship gave me the language knowledge, new acquaintances and a priceless working experience.”

Let us remind you that open hours of the exhibition are from 10.00 till 16.00
