The British Council Announces a Competition for Participation in Future News Worldwide Training

The British Council announces a competition for participation in Future News Worldwide training which is to take place in the heart of Scotland. Future News Worldwide is a partnership program between the British Council and some of the world's leading media organizations. The program’s goal is to train and bring together young journalists from all over the world.

100 talented, motivated and active student-journalists will take part in the training.

The training will take place in the Scottish Parliament during July 5-6 of 2018. Participants will pass an exclusive training from globally known editors, reporters, and writers, and will learn how publishers use technology for searching and animating stories.

Organizers are paying for:

Flight to Edinburgh Airport and back;

  • visa cost;

  • accommodation;

  • food.

Accommodation and plane tickets get booked by organizers of the training.

Requirements to candidates:

  • students who are interested in journalism;

  • a candidate is 18 – 25 years old at the moment of July 1 of 2018;

  • students are studying on any bachelor’s, master’s or postgraduate program at a university or any other higher education institution;

  • decent knowledge of English language is required;

  • candidates who participated in the previous years’ Future News Worldwide program can not apply;

  • participant has to attend the entire program during July 2-8 of 2018.
