A Story of Success: an International Graduate of SUSU Received Honorary Rewards for Contribution into Development of Tajikistan

South Ural State University actively develops international relations. Within the celebratory events held on the occasion of SUSU’s 75th anniversary, the Association of International Graduates was established upon an initiative of the International Office with the purpose to form continuous communication between the university and its alumni. One of the university’s successful alumni is Abdullozoda Ramazon Tolibjon, who was given two honorary rewards for outstanding professionalism and contribution to science and education of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Former postgraduate student of SUSU, Abdullozoda Ramazon Tolibjon has become one out of five citizens of the Republic, who was awarded the Prize of the President of Tajikistan in the sphere of education. Moreover, he received the Award named after Ismoil Somoni of 2018. This award is given to young scientists who achieved success in science and technology in order to develop scientific potential of the country. Abdullozoda Ramazon Tolibjon got enrolled for full-time postgraduate studies at SUSU Department of Life Safety in 2013 and worked on assessment of condition of a substation’s grounding arrangements of various types and purposes.

In the course of his study, Abdullozoda Ramazon Tolibjon participated in conferences of all-Russian and international levels. During his second year of study, he created a laboratory stand for researching the influence of environmental factors and stray currents on the process of corrosion of grounding arrangements, for which he obtained patent of the Russian Federation. The invention passed testing with a series of experiments. Results of the research were published in scientific journals recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, in the issues included in Scopus scientometric database and in collections, included in the RSCI (Russian Science Citation Index) system of the Russian Federation. On the basis of his own research, the postgraduate developed a new method of determining the state of substations’ grounding arrangements of various types and purposes. The method was vindicated by a patent. In total, he published more than 30 research articles during his study at SUSU. At the end of 2016, Abdullozoda Ramazon Tolibjon successfully defended his Candidate’s dissertation.

“Deepest gratitude to my academic advisor, Aleksandr Ivanovich Sidorov. He helped me formulating research objectives, showed me the way of achieving the set goal, and supported me during all stages of work. In the nearest future, I hope to continue research specifically at South Ural State University and start working on my Doctor’s dissertation,” said Abdullozoda Ramazon Tolibjon.

Presently, the former postgraduate student is working at a partner university of SUSU – the Tajik Technical University named after academician M.S. Osimi. In April of 2017, he was assigned Deputy Dean for Science at the Faculty of Power Engineering. Nowadays, Abdullozoda Ramazon Tolibjon is working as Acting Head of the Department of Relay Protection and Automation.

“Abdullozoda Ramazon Tolibjon is a graduate of SUSU, who went back to his home country, in Tajikistan, and is currently successfully working at the Osimi University, our partner university. He made a serious contribution into development of the Republic and received a well-earned reward for his efforts. We are very happy to learn about the destiny of our former students, about their career and achievements; therefore, we would like to invite all international alumni join the Association that we are establishing on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the university,” said SUSU’s Vice-Rector for International Activity, Olga Yaroshenko.

Association of International Graduates is a platform for experience and information exchange, favoring fulfillment of professional and creative potential of its members. It strengthens the bond of alumni with the university, and gives the opportunity to stay updated on current activity of the university. Contests and other events are to be held for members of the Association, participating in which they will be able to receive various presents and souvenirs.

Any international student who graduated from South Ural State University can join the Association, no matter the graduation year. In order to become a member of the Association, one needs to fill in the registration form.
