Nation’s Cross-Country Race: SUSU Students are to Take Part in Russia’s Most Scaleous Sport Event

Students of South Ural State University are going to take part in All-Russian Day of Running, the Nation’s Cross-Country Race, which is the most scaleous massive sport event at the territory of the Russian Federation.

Nation’s Cross-Country Race is held on September’s third Sunday since 2014 in all big cities of the country. Its purpose is promoting healthy lifestyle and attracting Russian residents to exercising sports. Depending on their physical condition, athletes will be able to take part in mass start for amateurs (1 km and longer) and in races for skilled athletes (up to 12 km). Hundreds of thousands of school students, university students and public officials, as well as all who wishes, will take part in the Race.

“Students of South Ural State University annually participate in the Nation’s Cross-Country Race. Among them are both professional athletes, who want to test themselves in a race for the longest distance, and amateurs. Several dozens of students have already submitted applications for participation,” noted Semen Knyazev, Master of Sports in Track and Field, Head Coach of SUSU’s track and field team.

In Chelyabinsk, the event is to take place on September 23, in the city pine forest behind the Kurchatov memorial. Overall, about 20 thousands of South Ural residents are to take part in the mass race. Conditions of participation and event programme can be found in Provisions by the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation.

The event is to be held on Sunday, September 23 (start time of races depends on participant’s category), city pine forest (Lenin prospect, behind the Kurchatov memorial).
