SUSU is to Perform Training of Specialists in the Sphere of International Politics

In the new academic year, SUSU’s Institute of Linguistics and International Communications announces admissions for bachelor’s degree programme in Political Management (major in Political Science). Graduates of this major will be in-demand abroad. Entrance examinations for applicants are Russian Language, History and Social Studies.

One of the key strategic goals of South Ural State University is integration into the international educational space. In this regard, the university launches new programmes, graduates of which will be in-demand not only in Russia but also in other countries.

“One of the new programme’s specificities is enhanced linguistic training. Within 4 years of study, students will be learning English. Moreover, some part of disciplines will be taught in English. The new programme is prospective both for Russian and international students. Our goal is teaching graduates to be able to take part and organise project activity in the sphere of political process management. This is going to be an elite programme; it is targeted at university applicants who got interest in political processes and social life in the country and willing to make a change,” notes Head of the Department of International Relations and Regional Studies, Liudmila Shestakova.

Future political scientists will start learning such disciplines as Political Analysis and Forecasting; Political Management and Consulting; Political Conflictology; Project Management in the Sphere of Politics; Political Engineering of Social Processes; Political Imagology; Advocacy in the System of Political Communications, etc.

Graduates of this programme will be able to perform professional activity in state and municipal entities and local authorities as well as in various political parties, non-profit organisations, business associations, research, analysis and education centres, public offices and mass media.

In the future, it is planned to elaborate master’s degree programme in Political Science. Moreover, students will be offered to get a higher education degree within academic mobility and double degree programmes. Among partners of South Ural State University are higher education institutions of China, USA, and European countries (Finland, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Italy, etc.). Presently, the Institute of Linguistics and International Communications is considering possibilities for students to study on the new programme within academic mobility and double degree programmes.
