SUSU Students Took the 1st Place at All-Russian Student Olympiad on Automatic Control Theory

On April 2 of 2019, All-Russian Student Olympiad on Automatic Control Theory took place at Ivanovo State Power University. 56 students representing 8 Russian higher education institutions took part in the Olympiad.

SUSU was represented by students from the Department of Automatic Control Systems: Igor Prokopyev (KE-316), Andrey Nazarov (KE-316), Anastasiia Reshetnikova (KE-316) and Anna Romanova (KE-467), supervised by Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Sciences (Engineering), Olga Pavlovskaya. The university team took the 1st place. Moreover, Igor Prokopyev became the winner in the individual competition; Anna Romanova took the bronze medal.

This accomplishment is based on education that students get at the Department of Automatic Control Systems. In the course of 5-year study, former school children become engineers majoring in Aircraft Control Systems and acquire fundamental knowledge in mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, programming (including microprocessor programming), theory and practice of development of highly accurate aircraft control systems. Such well-trained engineering cadres are in-demand at hi-tech enterprises of the country. Among such enterprises are: Scientific and Production Association of Automatics named after Academician N.A. Semikhatov (Yekaterinburg), State Rocket Centre named after Academician V.P. Makeyev and Scientific and Production Association of Electro Mechanic (Miass), Instrument Engineering Plant (Trekhgorny), Russian Federal Nuclear Center - Zababakhin All-Russia Research Institute of Technical Physics (Snezhinsk), Progress Rocket Space Centre (Samara), Elektromashina JSC (Chelyabinsk), etc. Moreover, alumni of the Department successfully work in automation departments of various enterprises and solve the issues of development and modernization of control systems, as well as create mathematical software of information control systems of various purposes.

We congratulate the winners of the All-Russian Student Olympiad on Automatic Control Theory 2019 and wish them new accomplishments and new victories!
