Philologists from the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities Immersed Themselves in the World of Fantasy Fiction

On September 19th, a seminar for young writers was held at the Department of the Russian Language and Literature of the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities.

Young authors, participants of the Miass Literature Residence of the Association of the Unions of Writers and Publishers of Russia, have met with students and teaching members of the Department of the Russian Language and Literature.

"Re-Turn" by Aleksandr Purik: A New Exhibition Presented at SUSU

The "Re-Turn" ("Воз-Вращение") exhibition of ceramics and paintings by Aleksandr Purik opened in the Art Gallery of South Ural State University on September 15th. Aleksandr Purik is a participant in numerous art exhibitions and festivals, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, a teacher at the Department of Decorative and Applied Arts at the Chelyabinsk State Institute of Culture.

“Ecology Is Everyone”: Award Call for Applications

In order to increase environmental awareness among citizens, involve children, young people and older generation in environmental agenda, the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources has established the “Ecology Is Everyone” International Award for children and youth.

The young philosopher Anastasia Gulevataia, a researcher at the SUSU Research and Innovation Services, had a unique opportunity to attend the BRICS Young Scientists Forum, which was held in the city of Gqeberha, South Africa, from July 31st through August 2nd. The forum is held for the eighth time, bringing together scientific youth from Russia, China, Brazil, India and South Africa.

The Winners of the “Spring at SUSU” Festival Named

The art festival which helps students discover their talents has wrapped up at South Ural State University.

The Spring at SUSU art festival is an annual university event organized by the Recreation Centre and one of the stages of the Chelyabinsk “Student Spring” Student Art Festival. Competitions were held in several categories: music, dance, theatre, and open genre (fashion theatre and circus acts); students could also compete in the literary contest Ascending Parnassus.

SUSU Main Building: What It Looked Like Before and How It Transformed

The SUSU Main Building is one of the main attractions in our city. But this has not always been the case.

In 1943-1944 the institute was located in different parts of the city: at School No.4 not far from the railway station and in one of the schools of Traktorozavodskiy District. Later the institute was housed in a three-story building, where the Detsky Mir (Children’s’ World) store is now located. In 1945 the institute received a new building on Timiryazeva Street (now Lyceum No.11), but it did not solve the issue of lack of classrooms.

Where There Is a Spire on the Roof: an Excursion to the Observation Deck Organised for SUSU Students

On June 25th, an excursion to the observation deck was organized for SUSU students. On the occasion of Tatiana Day, Aleksandr Shestakov traditionally grants three wishes of students. Any SUSU student could write about his/her dream to the Rector in the official group of the university in VKontakte. All letters were reviewed by the Expert Council headed by the Rector; the most burning and important requests were selected. The excursion is the fourth wish of the students as part of the holiday.

Tretyakovka Cultural and Educational Intensive Course Held in the Chelyabinsk Region

At the Golden Beach club-hotel, a Tretyakovka offsite intensive creativity course took place from May 13 through May 16, 2021. The event brought together 80 young representatives of the Chelyabinsk Region from 16 to 35 years old to be engaged in creative activities in 7 categories: art, music, dance, theatre, graphic design, video production and film, and information support.

City Stage of Chelyabinsk Student Spring Festival-2021 Wrapped Up

On April 7th and 8th, the city stage of the “Student Spring of the City of Chelyabinsk-2021”, a festival for students of higher educational institutions, took place in the WTC Congress Hall in Chelyabinsk. Freedom, drive, zeal for victory, and most importantly, vivid emotions and unforgettable creative performances were all part of the event. The participants gave the audience their energy, and they, in turn, answered with enthusiastic ovations. The 2nd URAL FEST Ural Forum for International Students and Alumni to Be Held at SUSU

The big-scale URAL FEST Forum will be held at South Ural State University April 25th through April 29th, 2021. The Forum is dedicated to supporting and developing the international student and alumni community within the Ural Federal District and nearby regions. Registration is open until April 10th.

Tretyakovka to Organise Creative Master Classes in a New Art Space

On April 7th, the Tretyakovka creative project is planning to open an art coworking space, in which young people aged 18 to 35 will be able to engage in 6 creative fields for free. Master classes will start in mid-April.

SUSU Teachers Conduct Online Russian Language Courses for Applicants from Mongolia

The International Office of South Ural State University and the Russian Centre for Science and Culture of Mongolia organized and implemented a joint educational project. For two months the citizens of Mongolia, dreaming of studying in Russia, have been learning the Russian language. The training took place at the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communications under the additional educational program Russian as a Foreign Language. The course was held in an online format.
