Student of the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities Presented a Report at Korean Studies Conference

On November 23–24, a Regional Student Science-to-practice Conference on the Countries of the Korean Peninsula: the Past and the Present was held in Irkutsk.

Irkutsk State University and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Russia acted as the event organizers. SUSU student Sofiia Repina, majoring in History, presented her report on the Image of the Korean War as Covered by the Soviet Periodicals, on the Example of Ogoniok Magazine in 1950-1953.

We Are Opening the Festival of the Peoples of the World Together with SUSU!

 

South Ural Association of International Students and Alumni has held day one of the Festival of the Peoples of the World!

SUSU is a university which brings together representatives from more than 50 countries of the world. That is why it became the venue for this festival.

November 28 through November 30, 2023, the 3rd Young Scientists Congress is being held at the Sirius Federal Educational Centre in Sochi. South Ural State University presents the results of its leading projects as part of the exhibition program of the Congress.

SUSU Ecologists at the MedGU-2023 Mediterranean Geoforum

Research fellows from the SUSU Laboratory for Studying Environmental Problems in Post-industrial Agglomerations Tatiana Krupnova and Olga Rakova have presented their reports at the major forum of the 3rd Mediterranean Geosciences Union (MedGU–2023).

The conference is being held at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Istanbul, and has gathered 1200 participants from 89 countries. Among the scientists are ecologists, meteorologists, geologists, and even palaeontologists.

The Day of Dictionaries and Encyclopaedias has been recently celebrated in Russia. This holiday was established at the initiative of the Russian Language Arts Society in 2010, on the birth day of Vladimir Dal, a prominent lexicographer, ethnographer, Russian folklorist and author of the Explanatory Dictionary of the Living Great Russian Language.

SUSU Students Received Legislative Assembly Scholarships Once Again

The traditional ceremony of awarding scholarships of the Legislative Assembly of the Chelyabinsk Region to students and postgraduates of educational organizations was held in the middle of November.

Students of South Ural State University also received a one-time payment. The awards were given for successes and achievements in studies and science, creative victories, and various contributions to public life.

Project on Integrated Processing of Industrial Waste Is Being Implemented by the Ural Research and Education Centre

A project on integrated processing of industrial waste by SUSU and Teplostroi Engineering Centre provides eco-friendly approach to the disposal of slag from copper smelting enterprises. It is proposed to extract iron from industrial waste and use it for producing wear-resistant cast iron grinding balls and construction fittings; and synthetic basalt, pseudo-wollastonite, pseudo-biofibre from oxide residues. The promising project is being implemented within the framework of the Ural Research and Education Centre.

SUSU Students Performed at the OUR COUNTRY'S PRIDE National Choreography Award

November 6th through November 9th, the year's major choreography event was organized in Moscow. The final round of the OUR COUNTRY'S PRIDE National Choreography Award and a gala show were held in the State Kremlin Palace.

At the gala show, 100 best groups from all over our country performed to demonstrate their mastership. Among them was a group from the town of Korkino, Chelyabinsk Region, called Prospekt Gorniakov (Miners' Avenue).

SUSU Strengthens Its Positions in Media Activity Ranking among Russian Universities

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia has published a ranking on media activity among Russian universities as of October 2023. South Ural State University has taken the 16th place in this list (+4 positions in the ranking).

The 2023 Global Smart Industry Conference (GloSIC’2023) will be held at South Ural State University, in Chelyabinsk, November 21 through November 23. The forum participants will discuss current aspects of the smart industry.
