Greetings from the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Boris Dubrovsky

Dear friends!

Many pages of the 75-year history of South Ural State University can rightfully be called golden. Those were written by talented scientists, ambitious students, and brilliant science organisers while meeting the challenges of the epoch and solving the tasks set by our country before the scientific community.

At the time Chelyabinsk Polytechnic Institute supplied young specialists to the post-war industrial sector of the region, played a key part in the fundamental reconstruction of Soviet enterprises, and created new technologies for mechanical engineering, metallurgy and construction. This experience of innovative work allowed the institute to become a national research university in the 21st century, a powerful educational corporation and a system-forming educational institution of the South Ural Region.

Today SUSU successfully competes with the leading universities of our country and strengthens its status under Project 5 – 100. It is integrated into the global educational community through training international students and participating in the programmes on international exchange.

The university’s long-standing partners include state corporations, and innovative and industrial enterprises of Russia and other countries. Just like 75 years ago, SUSU is still acutely conscious of the mood of the times and develops exactly those fields that are in sync not only with the present day, but with the future as well.

I am confident of the high professionalism, and scientific and creative potential of the SUSU teachers and students, and I wish successful development and prosperity to this leading university of the Chelyabinsk Region.

Happy Anniversary!

Boris Dubrovsky
Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region
