Trade and Economic Faculty sticks to the tradition of scientific seminars

The seminars are held every Saturday. The main purpose of these seminars is the development of scientific schools of the Faculty in the sphere of economics and entrepreneurship, logistics and marketing and also the formation and development of the academic community of the Faculty and University.

Besides the participants of the seminars have a particular scientific-methodological task: discussion of interim results of the dissertation research works of graduate students and doctoral candidates of the Faculty, organization of the experiment and others. In the seminars the leading professors and lecturers of Trade and Economic Faculty take part. The heads of the senimars are Irina Yurevna Okolnishnikova, Dean of the Faculty, and Yulia Gennadevna Kuzmenko, Vice Dean of Research Activity.

This event is of voluntary nature. It is necessary, first of all, for those professors and graduate students of the Faculty who take an active part in the research activity within the framework of their dissertation works and who lead an intensive scientific investigation. There is one more good tradition at the Faculty: holding within the framework of the seminar the expert council for the discussion of dissertation research results. All the leading scientists of the Faculty participate in these expert councils. It is a very productive form of scientific discussion. Before the defence of the dissertation work the candidate presents it for the discussion among his colleagues. The scientists of the Faculty consider the expert council as an effective form of cooperation which allows to improve the research work. The graduate and degree-seeking students can participate in these councils, also they can take part in the discussions and share their point of view. The participation in this kind of events can help the young scientists with their research works as in the course of the seminars and expert councils the professors can point out the mistakes and explain some ways and methods of scientific researches.

The seminars and expert councils already have some particular results. The scientific activity at the Faculty has become more active, the scientific schools are improving very fast, the preparation for the defence of dissertation works became more systematic. Thus, for the last academic year three doctor and seven candidate dissertations were defended at the Faculty. At the beginning of this academic year two dissertations are already defended and three works are confirmed by the dissertation councils and will be defended in spring of 2013.
