Signing of contract between SUSU and OJSC "Chelyabenergosbyt"

On December 26 the agreement between SUSU and OJSC “Chelyabenergosbyt” was signed. According to it for the students of Power Engineering Faculty the scholarship named after Vyacheslav Seredkin will be founded.

The scholarship named after Vyacheslav Seredkin will be paid to the best students and postgraduates of SUSU Power Engineering Faculty on a permanent basis. It will range from 5000 to 7000 rubles per month for five students and postgraduates.

Pavel Vasilevich Kiselev, General Director of OJSC “Chelyabenergosbyt” noted: “We thank SUSU for responding to our proposal. From the one hand this exhibition commemorates Vyacheslav Pavlovich Seredkin, acknowledged leader of the profession and exemplary man. From the other hand this is a stage of our HR work. We want to select talented youths since the first years of study with the help of this scholarship and further work with them. At the moment an issue of contemporary approach to the succession pool and overall HR policy formation has the highest priority.”

Vyacheslav Pavlovich Seredkin (17.09.1951 - 16.08.2011) graduated from Chelyabinsk Polytechnic Institute (was renamed into SUSU) in 1973 with the major “Electric Power Plants”. His labor activity began at Troitsk GRES power plant: in capacity of Deputy Manager, Manager of the shop and Chief Engineer of TEZ-3. In 1996 he was appointed Manager of Chelyabinsk TETS-3 (Central Heating and Power Plant). Since 1998 he was the First Deputy General Manager, Chief Engineer of JSC “Chelyabenergo”. In 2000 he became General Manager of that enterprise. Five years after he took similar executive positions in OJSC “Chelyabinsk Generating Company” and OJSC “Chelyabenergosbyt”. In February 2006 he became General Manager of OJSC “Chelyabenergosbyt”.

V.P. Seredkin was the Member of 3rd and 4th Legislative Assembly (years 2000-2015) from the Soviet electoral district No 25, Member of “United Russia” faction. He also was Vice-Chairman of the Legislative Assembly Committee on Industrial Policy, Member of Legislative Assembly Committee on Ecology and Natural Resource Management.

V.P. Seredkin was awarded with the medal for “Merits in the Arms and Military Equipment Creation”. He gained the following dignities: “Honoured Worker of UES Russia”, “Honourable Power Engineer” and “Honoured CIS Power Engineer”. In 2004 he was bestowed the title of “Honorary Citizen of Chelyabinsk”.
