The Head of the Office of Scientific and Innovative Activities Joined the Editorial Board of an International Journal Indexed in Scopus

In the beginning of 2016, the list of SUSU academics who are members of the editorial board of international journals gained one more name. The head of the Office of Scientific and Innovative Activities, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Aleksandr Dyakonov, joined the editorial board of the journal Russian Engineering Research.

The international journal, published since 1992, is comprised of materials of the Russian journals Vestnik Mashinostroeniya and STIN. The main goal of the publication is to acquaint the international academic community with the leading research of Russian researchers in the following fields: machine design, testing and reliability; production and machinery techniques used in industrial processes.

Articles by Aleksandr Anatolyevich and colleagues dedicated to various aspects of mechanical engineering are published in the journal frequently, thanks to which the professor came to the attention of the editorial board of the leading mechanical engineering journal. As a member of the editorial committee, Aleksandr Dyakonova’s responsibilities include article review, preparing reviews, and correcting articles.

The journal is published under the name Russian Engineering Research by the company Allerton Press, Inc. (New York). This journal is included in the international scientific journal database Springer, which means inclusion in the international citation database, Scopus.

The “visibility” factor, one of the main factors of the scientific press SNIP (Source-Normalized Impact per Paper, Moed H.F.) of the journal Russian Engineering Research is .453, which is quite a high rating for a journal in the area of mechanical engineering. The participation of Aleksandr Anatolyevich as a member of the editorial committee in the leading international scientific publication is one more step on the path of recognition of the competitiveness of South Ural State University in the international arena. He will be contributing to the promotion of the scientific findings of SUSU researchers in the international database Scopus, and in the overall improvement of SUSU’s position in the QS (World University Rankings) overall ratings of the best universities in the world

The publication Russian Engineering Resarch has much in common with the Mashinostroeniya series of SUSU Gazette, for whom Aleksandr Dyakonov acts as the deputy managing editor.

“We are actively advancing the Mashinostroeniya series of SUSU Gazette,” emphasizes Aleksandr Anatolyevich, “soon, it should also be included in Scopus. In the last year, the impact-factor of the Mashinostroeniya series has grown significantly!”
