“Saddle Pegasus” – A Competition for Best Poetic Translation is Beginning at SUSU

The Department of Foreign Languages and the Department of International Relations and Regional Studies of the SUSU Institute of Linguistics and International Communication invites students of non-language based majors and areas of study to participate in a poetry translation competition.

In ancient Greek mythology, Pegasus was the patron of arts. To saddle him means to become inspired to create poetry or even become a poet. The organizers are sure that SUSU students have the talent to uncover the secrets of poetry.

Translations are being accepted from November 21st through December 19th by email (studiumjuvenis[at]mail[dot]ru) with a cover letter showing the participant’s name, city, university, department, year of study, major, and contact e-mail. The email subject should be “translation competition”.

The results of the competition will be announced December 26th. More information about the competition can be seen in the rules for the "Music of Translation" competition.
