Associate Professor of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities Submitted One of the Best Literary Translations at Eurasian Open 2017

 

The associate professor of the Russian Language and Literature of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities Denis Pelikhov was second at the XIV Eurasian Open 2017 for the best literary translation in the nomination “The Polish Language”. Participants of this nomination translated a sentimental poem by Franciszek Karpiński and an excerpt of the story for children written by the Polish writer of the XX c. Irena Jurgielewiczowa.

Denis Aleksandrovich takes part in this competition for the second time. Last year he was a bronze winner. In total, about thousand people from Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Latvia, Italy, Spain, Poland and the Czech Republic took part in this intellectual contest. Students of D.A. Pelikhov become prize and award winners of competitions for creative translation from Polish within four years and the victory of their instructor is an important example, which serves motivation for further realization of philological professional goals.

The translation competition, organized 14 years ago in Orenburg, enjoys great popularity. It’s supported by the embassies of Germany, Switzerland, Mexico, Polish and Czech Cultural Centers in Moscow, the Italian Institute of Culture. The Interregional Non-Governmental Foundation of Chernomyrdin has become a partner of the contest this year.  Over the years “Literary Newspaper” provides a significant informational support of the Eurasian Open contest for the best literary translation.
