SUSU Students of Economics Are In-demand in Major Industrial Enterprises of Russia

South Ural State University is strengthening collaboration with industrial enterprises of the Chelyabinsk Region and Russian Federation. One of the world’s major manufacturers of steel Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works has become interested in graduates of the SUSU School of Economics and Management.

“South Ural State University and Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works have a long history of fruitful collaboration. SUSU students have good level of training and fundamental knowledge in their field of specialization, and that is why they are rightfully considered by us as priority candidates with high qualification,” notes Head of the Human Resources Department of PJSC MMK Igor Derevskov.

Earlier MMK collaborated with SUSU regarding the issues of training and employment of students from only engineering specialities, so the proposal on engaging in work future managers and economists has been received for the first time. Following the suggestion of MMK, the number of students sent for internship to the production and functional subdivisions of the plant will be significantly increased in 2018–2019 academic year. Moreover, the company’s employees will participate in occupational guidance work with students of the School of Economics and Management to exchange information and facilitate employment of graduates.

“In September–October the School of Economics and Management will organize the Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works Day for third and fourth year students of the School of Economics and Management, and the top management of the enterprise will take part in the event. The potential employers will deliver a presentation of their company and after that they will answer questions of our students,” shares Director of the SUSU School of Economics and Management Irina Savelyeva.

The interest which industrial enterprises show in managers and economists who obtained education at South Ural State University is proof of high level of students’ training and good reputation of the university among employers. One of the most important advantages of graduates of the SUSU School of Economics and Management is the fact that the School’s academic programs comply with the requirements to the specialists in the context of globalization and digitalization of the world’s community. In academic year 2018–2019 the university will launch 6 unique Master’s programs jointly elaborated with organisations which will subsequently hire SUSU’s graduates.
