For the fulfilment of the project, materials will be used which are stored in the collection of the SUSU Museum, and were found in the course of the search efforts by the SUSU Poisk Scouting Forces.

The preparation to the exhibition includes the creation of an illustrative text corpus based on five European languages, and consolidation of documents of all kinds and types. The students, Master’s students and postgraduates of the Department of Linguistics and Translation Studies will actively participate in translation of the archive materials from English, French, Spanish, and Italian. Also, together with their teachers, they will be selecting additional materials on the educational project, developing the theme-exhibit layout of the exhibition, preparing the demonstration articles, and participating in assembling and holding of the exhibition. The materials of the SUSU Museum will complement the project with data on the veterans of our university, those who participated in the Great Patriotic War.

Preparing and holding of the exhibition devoted to the Victory Day marking the winning in the Great Patriotic War will allow to fulfil the “regional” component (both with regard to the theme and linguistics) in the university practice. Russian and international students will be granted a unique opportunity to learn about the history of the Ural region in an unusual format, take a look at the region’s history through the eyes of foreign researchers, and to appreciate the contribution made to the Great Victory by the Ural Region.

As a result of participating in this project, students will get trained for speaking and writing in Russian and foreign languages in order to solve the tasks under their professional activities, will be able to demonstrate their profound knowledge in certain fields of linguistics chosen by them, do translations, write and edit professional texts, plan and solve the tasks of their own professional and personal development, get the feel of working in a team, and will learn many new things about the history of their homeland.
