Members of the SUSU Recreation Centre’s Performance Groups Awarded Letters of Appreciation

Staff of the South Ural State University Recreation Centre and members of the centre’s performance groups were honoured on June 5th.

Throughout the year, the students were demonstrating their talents and brought home many medals from festivals and contests. The leaders of the performance groups did a lot for the success of their team members, and their work together showed excellent results.

South Ural State University Vice-Rector for Student Affairs Vyacheslav Burmatov awarded letters of appreciation from SUSU Rector Aleksandr Shestakov to staff and students of the Recreation Centre

“The many events held at our university with the participation of the Recreation Centre are taken for granted. But it is important to understand that often, it is the performance groups that create a positive mood for any event. It is also important to say thank you to every leader of every group, because they perform a colossally important task – they educate our students through creativity,” noted Vice-Rector.

Vycheslav Burmatov wished success to the performance groups in their chosen form of creative activities and noted that the many victories and other achievements of the students should not affect their academic performance.

In the 2018-2019 academic year, the performance groups of the South Ural State University Recreation Centre took part in many of the university’s traditional events: Tatiana Day, February 23rd, March 8th, May 9th, as well as concerts, festivals, and competitions.

Director of the SUSU Recreation Centre Svetlana Filipchuk noted the most important event of the previous academic year. “For us, the academic year was first and foremost a year of creativity, which was filled with various events. One of these events was the 75th Anniversary of our university. This was difficult, but very interesting, and I think that we succeeded, because people keep talking about this event to this day. Next year, of course, we wish for new, talented students to enrol at SUSU, who will not only be able to study but also be part of the Recreation Centre's performance groups.”

A letter of appreciation for active participation in the university’s cultural events and successful results in festivals of creativity and contests was awarded to first-year student of the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science Umardzhon Badalov. He came to Chelyabinsk from the Republic of Tajikistan in 2018 and immediately joined the SUSU Recreation Centre. Umardzhon participated in nearly all of the events by performing on the traditional musical instrument, doyra.

“I have enjoyed creative activities since my childhood, music in particular has already become my hobby. I have played the instrument that is called “buben” in Russia (the tambourine) for a long time. I think that it is not difficult to play. The most important thing is to practice a lot. I plan on actively participating in all of the concerts I can throughout my university education.”

As part of the ceremony for awarding letters of appreciation to the SUSU Recreation Centre performance groups’ leaders and members, the students performed for the audience, creating a festive atmosphere. At the end of the event, the students performed a final song and took a group picture.
