SUSU Institute of Law Organizes a Science-to-practice Seminar

On June 28th a science-to-practice seminar on the Personal Bankruptcy – Some Issues of Theory and Practice will be held at South Ural State University.

Private (personal) bankruptcy is the priority scientific development by the Department of Civil Law and Civil Legal Procedures of the Institute of Law of South Ural State University.

The private bankruptcy procedures (public law enforcement), along with certain controversies in the civil and family law regulations (private law enforcement), raise many questions.

Namely these questions are suggested to be discussed by the representatives of the academic scientific community and by the representatives of the judicial and executive authorities at this science-to-practice seminar. Representatives of the professional community specializing in private bankruptcy procedures are also invited.

Oleg Zaitsev, Candidate of Sciences (Jurisprudence), consultant of The Private Law Research Centre under the President of the Russian Federation named after S.S. Alekseev, Associate Professor of Russian School of Private Law, State Councillor of Justice of the Russian Federation of the 3rd category, holder of Master’s degree in Private Law, and Chairman of the Bankruptcy Club will act as the expert of this scientific event.

Brief Info

The “private bankruptcy” institution has been well known within the frameworks of the doctrine of pre-revolutionary Russian civil law (or to be more exact – competition law). In the Soviet period of jurisprudence such a phenomenon as bankruptcy existed only during the time of the New Economic Policy, and later it “vanished”. The legislation of the Russian Federation started regulating insolvency (bankruptcy) in the year of 1992. Judicial bankruptcy procedures with respect to citizens began in the Russian Federation starting from 2015.
