ISTS Students Visited “The Ural Switzerland” as Part of Their Field Trips

At the beginning of October, a group of full-time and extramural ISTS students (majoring in Tourism and Hospitality) visited the city of Kyshtym called The Ural Switzerland for its picturesque mountain landscapes and multiple lakes.

Special attention within the trip’s programme was paid to recreational-and-resort resources of the region as well as to visiting Dalnyaya Dacha health resort. During the excursion, students were told about history of the health resort’s creation, its healing forest-and-mountain climate, and the main medical and recreational programmes. The group had a chance to get familiar with unique techniques of health improvement, the infrastructure of the health resort, technologies of arrangement and rendering nutrition services to the health resort’s guests, and the main nutrition types in practice, which is an invaluable contribution to formation of professional competencies and establishment of future specialists of the tourism and hospitality industries.

“Our excursion is a unique chance to have a sneak peek at the ‘backstage’ work of employees at the health resort institution, see the unique revitalization techniques and the health resort’s infrastructure with our own eyes, and get familiar with qualified staff,” said Olga Smolina, a student of group СТЗ-453.

After visiting the health resort, students took a trip to Kyshtym’s Bali – a spectacular place, a kaolin quarry which earned the name as Bali for its turquoise water.
