“Sporty SUSU”: Winning Student Athletes Awarded by the University

On November 27th, the ceremony of awarding the winners and medallists of the Sporty SUSU project was held as part of the All-Russian Youth Projects Contest of the Rosmolodezh Federal Agency for Youth Affairs.

Rosmolodezh is a federal executive body, whose activities are entirely focused on creating equal conditions for the self-fulfilment of the younger generation.

Today, the goal of Rosmolodezh is to create as many opportunities as possible for young people’s self-development and, as a result, the effective fulfilment of the innovative potential of the youth.

At the ceremony dedicated to recognizing the successful athletes from South Ural State University, Vyacheslav Burmatov, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, greeted the guests of the event with a speech.

“For the second year already, the sports-related project has been victorious in the youth projects contest supported by the Rosmolodezh federal agency. I believe that SUSU has always been, is, and always will be “sporty”, and to those who take part in this project – well done! Good luck to you and I wish you success!”

As part of the Sporty SUSU project, a selection round was held for the Championship of the Association of Russian Student Sports Clubs in five events: football, volleyball, 3x3 basketball, table tennis, and chess. More than 200 university athletes took part in the competition.

Director of the SUSU Club of Physical Culture and Sports Albert Aminov noted that through their victories the students show other universities how to work.

“I would like to say thank you to the athletes for the work that I have seen. The young people who won the Champion’s title at the World Championship of University Sports Teams are professionals. Their results are the culmination of a big and hard teamwork.”
