SUSU students took an active part in the all-Russian event, Nationwide Dictation Quiz in English among students of higher education organisations and general educational organisations of the Russian Federation on November 29, 2019.
The aim of the Quiz is to involve students in studying foreign languages and increase motivation to master English at high level. Kazan Federal University has been holding the Nationwide Dictation Quiz for several years now. Thanks to the Department of Modern Languages of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communications, students of our university have an opportunity to test their listening skills in English.
In 2019, SUSU students participate in the Nationwide Dictation Quiz for the second time, and it is to be noted that the interest to the event is only growing. This year, about 250 students from different institutes and schools decided to test their knowledge.
Polina Beloglazova, 2nd-year student, shares her emotions about the event:
“To me, the Nationwide Dictation Quiz is one of the most interesting Olympiads, in which I have been participating for the second time. In fact, it is not that easy to grasp and immediately write down the information, especially information in foreign language. But I think, such skill is really useful for further language acquisition. I only wish similar contests to happen more often!”
