SUSU Arranges Profile Meetings with South Ural Applicants

South Ural State University continues its career guidance work with applicants. In the beginning of 2020, SUSU specialists started a series of off-site presentations in schools, lyceums and gymnasia of the Chelyabinsk Region.

Off-site presentations are a convenient format of interaction between future students and the university. Thanks to these events, applicants from Chelyabinsk and other cities of South Ural region can learn about the fields of training which they are interested in, self-realization opportunities and student life first-hand from SUSU administrative and academic staff, and ask any questions.

The specific feature of these off-site presentations is that they are oriented at the profiles of educational institutions. For example, the meetings in lyceums and gymnasia that specialize in physics and mathematics are related to the programmes of the Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the Institute of Architecture and Construction, the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science and the Institute of Engineering and Technology. The meetings in educational institutions that specialize in humanitarian studies are, respectively, related to the Humanities programmes, etc.

The presentations took place in Gymnasium No.23, Lyceum No.37 of the city of Chelyabinsk, and in some schools in Zlatoust with more than 450 graduates present. The presentations in Gymnasium No.26 and Gymnasium No.28 of the city of Chelyabinsk, as well as Miass and Ozersk, are also being planned.

When arranging these events, SUSU specialists took into account that students of the 11th-form are now actively preparing for the Unified State Examination. SUSU academic staff held master classes for students to help with the preparation for the Unified State Examination, and workshops for teachers on solving difficult problems during exams in Mathematics, Physics, Russian Language and History.

Moreover, at some off-site presentations the meetings with prize winners of the intellectual contests will be held.
