Day of Russian Science at SUSU: Development of Youth Science and Startups Discussed at University

On February 7 to 8, a number of events devoted to the Day of Russian Science will be held at South Ural State University.

During two days, a series of events aimed at developing scientific potential of the university will be held at SUSU. The key topic will be the development of youth science of the university using successful case studies that are in demand on the market of goods and services.

On February 7, everyone will have the opportunity to learn key measures for supporting and developing youth science. The first city accelerator of technological projects (which is a joint project of SUSU, the Centre of Digital Technology Development in the Chelyabinsk Region Autonomous Non-commercial Organisation, and Information Technologies Technopark), as well as grant programs by the Skolkovo Foundation and the Innovation Promotion Fund will be presented. Among the invited speakers are Director General of the Centre of Digital Technology Development in the Chelyabinsk Region Dmitrii Kozlenkov, Director General of the Information Technologies Technopark Evgeniia Nekrasova, and representative of the Innovation Promotion Fund in the Chelyabinsk Region Vsevolod Skremeta.

A presentation of the innovative fields of the university's Boiling Point will take place on the same day. The speakers will be Director of the Centre for Collective Work Viktor Batuev and Deputy Director of the Centre for Collective Work Elena Bunova.

At the end of the program of the first day, in the format of pitch sessions the winners of the NTI-Razvitie (National Technology Initiative), START and UMNIK programs will demonstrate the developments and projects that received grants for their further development. They will talk about the parameters and characteristics of a promising project, key points in the course of their implementation and much more.

On February 8, the events at the university's Boiling Point will be carried out as part of the Day of Russian Science. In the first cluster, young scientists will learn how to correctly submit their applications for competitions within the development programs of the Skolkovo Foundation and the Innovation Promotion Fund.

Head of the Research and Innovation Services Anton Nurketov and Head of the Information Technologies Technopark business incubator Aleksei Piskunov will conduct workshops. The second cluster will be dedicated to the topic entitled From Idea to Patent, moderated by the Head of the Patent Office of the Research and Innovation Services Natalia Melnichuk. In the third cluster, the participants of the event will find out what effective practices in project management exist. An international expert of WorldSkills, Director of Soli IT Mikhail Lapidus and the specialist of Innovations Department of the SUSU Research and Innovation Services Vladimir Sinitsin will assist in looking into the issue.
