Delegation from Tajikistan Pays Visit to SUSU to Discuss the Forthcoming Parliamentary Elections

In March 2020 parliamentary elections are to be held in Tajikistan. Within the frameworks of the election campaign, South Ural State University has been visited by a delegation from Tajikistan, the members of which whished to meet their fellow countrymen studying at SUSU.

The delegation members included: Yusufdzhon Nabiev, Acting Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan; Yokub Ismoilov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Local Community Development under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan; Nurali Rioev, deputy of the Lower Chamber of the Parliament, member of the International Affairs Committee; Rustam Odilzoda, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the People's Democratic Party of the Jabbor Rasulov District; and Islomudin Radzhabov, Chairman of the “Somoniyon” Tajik National and Cultural Centre.

Our foreign guests met the SUSU students and postgraduates from Tajikistan and discussed the issues related to the forthcoming elections. It was for a reason that SUSU was chosen as the venue for holding such an event: our university closely collaborates with foreign colleagues, and in particular with Consulate General of the Republic of Tajikistan in Ekaterinburg and the Tajik community in Chelyabinsk, and thus contributes greatly into the holistic development of students and training of specialists for the Republic of Tajikistan. In total 247 students from the Republic of Tajikistan are training at SUSU, and currently our university has 18 collaboration agreements signed with 14 scientific and educational organizations in Tajikistan.

Previously the Acting Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan Yusufdzhon Nabiev paid his visit on November 14, 2019, when he actively participated in a round table on the Measures for Assisting Foreign Citizens in Social and Cultural Adaptation on the Territory of the Chelyabinsk Region and in Their Integration into the Russian Society, which was held within the frameworks of the SUSU’ international forum URAL FEST, dedicated to the studies and adaptation of international students in institutions of higher education in Russia.
