“How to Make the World a Better Place” Contest Finals Held at SUSU

The finals of the contest of projects/ideas on the topic “How to Make the World a Better Place” within the framework of multi-day “IT-Maslenitsa” event was held on February 28th. Historically, Maslenitsa has been famous for its various contests, but nowadays, in the age of information technology, these competitions have been greatly modified. The aim of the contest is to unleash the potential of youth and boost new ideas and projects, which can make the world a better place!

More than 50 students and members of the university administrative and academic staff took part in the event. This contest proved that Russia still has a future, since there are people who actually care about the matters of ecology improvement, public transport development, showing concern for the older generation and other issues of modern society.

Preliminarily, a semi-final selection round of projects/ideas was held at the University Boiling Point on February 26th. 13 projects were presented there, with 9 projects thereof recommended for the finals:

  • Accommodations Equipped with “SMART Noise” by Nikita Zhidovkin and Kirill Sukhorukov, ЭУ-444;
  • Multilevel Fog Computing Platform with the Data Mining Option by Andrey Astashov, КЭ-405;
  • FPGA CAR SAFETY DRIVE SYSTEM by Artem Golenishchev, ЕТ-153;
  • E-sports Events Aggregator by Dmitry Chumakov, ЭУ-461;
  • Development of Public Transport of the City of Chelyabinsk by Dmitry Nadein and Dmitry Gurenko, ЭУ-120;
  • Investment Fund for the Development of IT Entrepreneurship in Chelyabinsk by Konstantin Eliseev and Maksim Yakovlev, ЭУ-120;
  • Droplet of Kindness by Daria Tekutyeva, ЭУ-461;
  • Wireless Transfer of Personal Data by Evelina Popova and Elena Utkina, ЭУ-120;
  • Pure Movement Project by Azat Rakhimov, МБ-175;
  • Ecological Map of Chelyabinsk by Igor Pollak and Esenang Moncho, ЭУ-120.

Following the final selection round of projects and ideas, 5 projects were chosen for the Factory of Ideas and Startups being fulfilled by the University Boiling Point at SUSU with the subsequent acceleration in the City Technological Accelerator.

We also invite everyone who has ideas and projects allowing to revamp our society and improve our lives!

The prize-winners were awarded diplomas of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degrees, that can be accounted as 1 additional point to the personal achievements within the framework of TOP 500 program. All the participants treated themselves to bliny and enjoyed their time greatly!
