"FULL MARKS" for E-Learning Organisation: Distance Learning Regulations Developed and Launched at SUSU

In the context of the current situation with the coronavirus pandemic, students all over the world have switched to distance learning. For the successful implementation of educational programmes using e-learning, a working group was created at South Ural State University under the guidance of the SUSU Rector Aleksandr Shestakov, which included representatives of the Rector's Office, directors of schools and institutes, and heads of departments. The team developed the university's Distance Learning?Regulations?, which establish generic requirements for conducting classes using e-learning and distance education technologies at the university, and are mandatory for all teachers.

Today, according to the Regulations, classes at the university are held in the form of video conferences, forum lectures, practical training in the form of video conferencing, practical training in the forum, practical training (seminars) in the form of video conferences and practical training (seminars) in the forum.

Besides, the university is ready for distance assessment of its students. The ?Regulations?on Conducting Interim Assessment Using E-learning and Distance Education Technologies has already been developed in the Electronic SUSU system.

"Holding an examination session remotely is an overcomable challenge for us. This is facilitated by the fact that a point-rating system has been introduced at SUSU, under which the final grade is issued on the basis of a number of intermediate tasks. A proctoring system, a procedure for monitoring and controlling remote testing, is also available at SUSU. The task of identifying and recording the process of conducting control tests was set by the Rector, and we developed the Regulations on Conducting Interim Assessment Using E-learning and Distance Education Technologies. This document describes all the teacher's tools and steps when undertaking control measures aimed at preventing such cases," said SUSU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Andrey Radionov.

Due to the fact that the SUSU's administration, academic and administrative staff are constantly working to improve the quality of the educational process, the university has all the resources to continue to work remotely, should that be needed.
