About

Mechanical Engineering Research Institute supports the University’s research in a broad variety of areas related to energy and resource efficiency, mechanical and metallurgical engineering.

What we do:

• Provide all the research facilities to the relevant degree courses

• Carry out thermomechanical analysis and determine thermokinetic diagrams

• Develop experimentally verified models of systems and equipment

• Develop composite materials technology

• Develop high-fidelity prototypes

• Develop automation systems

• Develop competitive products for the automotive industry, transport engineering, and lift and carry systems, with the use of CAD/CAM/CAE/PDM/PLM

• Conduct research and development projects for the University and for various industrial applications

Mechanical Engineering Research Institute includes five laboratories and two centres, each one focusing on specific projects:

• Physical Simulation of Thermomechanical Processing Laboratory

• Composite Materials Laboratory

• Mechanical Engineering Laboratory

• Experimental Mechanics Laboratory

• Laboratory of Electronic Control System Design & Engineering

• Powder Metallurgy Resource Centre
