The 12th International Chess Festival «Marienbad Open-2013" finished in Marianske Lazne (Czech Republic). In tournament "A" Sergey Matsenko, Chelyabinsk International Master, postgraduate of Adaptive Physical Education and Medicobiological Training Department, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, successfully achieved the standard of international grandmaster.
In nine rounds Sergey scored 7 points, shared the first and the second places and fulfilled the norm for getting the score of international grandmaster! In addition he won a strong blitz tournament with 70 chess players at the 12th International Chess Festival «Prague Open-2013" that took place in the capital of the Czech Republic.
His scientific research (supervisor – Doctor of Science (Medicine), professor Bykov E.V.) is also connected with the study of the chess influence on psychophysiological development of students and the search for the means of exhaustion correction at high mental work load.
We congratulate Sergey Matsenko with fulfilling the norm of International Chess Grandmaster and wish him new achievements in science and sports!
