Renovations Ahead: Modernized Tennis Hall Opened at SUSU

Spring is a time for renewal. Today, athletes from South Ural State University trained in a modernized tennis hall.

As part of the renovation of sports spaces at our SUSU, a modernized table tennis hall was opened at the premises of the Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service.

"This is an interesting, bright and sunny place! I am very happy that we have such spaces. Plans include renovation of other sports spaces, including for new sports. Our students and staff will have more and more opportunities to do sport!" said SUSU Rector Alexander Wagner.

The modernized hall has a new floor covering that is convenient for athletes. The walls of the hall are decorated with thematic drawings. In addition, new rackets and air conditioners will be purchased.

"We want to make our SUSU Sports Palace beautiful and bright. Little by little, hall by hall. This is not the first time that the same designer has worked with us to decorate our halls, including eSports and chessboxing halls. We understand each other perfectly. You’ll also see a lot of interesting ideas in the future," said Director of the Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service Vadim Erlikh.

Students have already tested the new space. And some even played a game with the Rector of our university.

"Nice hall, we have been waiting for it for a long time! We have already tested everything and liked it. And what is more, I played with the Rector, and it was very exciting," student Nikita Guliaev shared his emotions.

Now a university team is being formed. The team will represent our university not only at the regional, but at the all-Russian competitions as well.
