SUSU Invites to Celebrate the International Museum Day

 

On the18th of May the whole world celebrates the International Museum Day. This holiday officially exists since 1978, when during one of the International Council of Museums’ meeting it was decided to establish a new memorable date in the international calendar. Nowadays this holiday is celebrated in more than 150 countries, expressing appreciation and respect to museum workers and visitors.

Week of Art Opens at SUSU

 

The SUSU Week of Art 2017 opened on May 15th. This is a project by students of the Institute of Architecture and Construction for students of our university.

Organizer Kseniya Yanova shared her emotions about the work completed.

“We did this for people so that they expressed themselves, so that they had more art in their lives. Of course we worried a lot, because it’s a large event, but we tried. We succeeded, although there were many problems with finding sponsors, equipment, and signing all of the orders.”

SUSU Invites to “The Week of Creativity”

 

On May 15 starts “The Week of Creativity at SUSU”. The whole week students can take part on dance, music and other events, which will be held during a big break in the hall of the third floor of the main building.

Anybody could take a picture with tintamarresque, get branded labels, visit interesting workshops and participate in creative quests. In the framework of the Week there will be an exhibition of students’ works. The authors whose paintings will be recognized as the best will get prizes. 

International Festival of Creativity, Together, to be held at SUSU

 

This coming weekend the winners of the selection stages of the festival will come to South Ural State University.

Entrance as a participant in the festival was possible for those from 5 to 45 years old. This year it was possible for the first time for leaders of children’s artistic collectives, teachers, and anyone else who wanted to, to take part. The large celebration brings together talented choreographers, singers, musicians, spoken word artists and poetry readers, and other performers.

A spring ball of the SUSU Institute of Law, a final stage of the regional project for moral and aesthetic youth development “Ex Libris” was held on April 27.

“Philosophy and Theatre”: A Play based on F.M. Dostoevsky’s Novel

 

The Department of Philosophy of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities in collaboration with the Municipal Autonomous Institution “The New Arts Theatre” (NAT) is implementing a new project “Philosophy and Theatre” in the framework of a strategic research area of the Department “Philosophical Practice”.

Ilya Anatolyevich Kolomeyskiy completed post-graduate studies at SUSU in 2009 with a degree in history. Today this person, with colossal experience as an organizer and an infectious life energy, heads the Chamber theatre.

SUSU Students Took Part in the Local Student Spring Festival 

 

This year more than 350 students participated in the Student Spring Festival. SUSU students earned 73 awards. The Deep Vision dance theater presented 6 pieces to the judges, and all of them received awards. The Crazy Family team also received 5 awards for 5 of their presented numbers. Students who participated in the Theatrical category earned awards in the spoken word, literature contest, and stand-up categories.

“Let’s Go!”: Future Cosmonauts Were Selected at SUSU

 

Today the event “Let’s Go!” dedicated to a Cosmonautics Day has been held during a midday break in the main building of SUSU.

My Fair Lady: Miss SUSU 2017 was chosen

 

On April 7 the Miss SUSU 2017 contest final was conducted at the Congress and Exhibition Hall. This year competitors went before the jury and the audience in characters of great women who have set the world on fire.

More than 100 SUSU students expressed their wish to take part in the elimination round of the competition. Only 16 candidates for the grand prize participated in the final round.

Arabian Fairytale At The University: SUSU Celebrated Arab Culture Day

 

On April 6, South Ural State University celebrated the Arab Culture Day, in which students from Iraq, Yemen, Palestine, Jordan and Syria took part.

From Drawing to Engraving – from Science to Art

Not too long ago a poll was held at SUSU in which the university’s international students participated. They chose the most interesting place in the university. In their opinion, it’s the SUSU Museum of Art. This is not surprising, as exhibitions of classical art from the country and region’s museums, modern and, of course, unique personal exhibitions, have been held here for almost 14 years. They bring students, professors, humanitarian and technical specialists, experts, and the university’s guests together in dialogue.

SUSU scientists built a unique collection of ancient artifacts

More than 10 000 priceless artifacts are displayed in the People and Technologies of the Ural Museum. Among them the antiquities of Huns and Sarmatian jewelry. Historical antiquities were found by South Ural scientists as a result of archeological studies within Chelyabinsk Region.

The museum is a part of the SUSU Scientific and Educational Center of the Eurasian Researches. Every summer the staff organizes not less than 3 or 4 archaeological expeditions. All their finds come to the museum, and the most interesting of them are become part of the permanent exhibition.

SUSU Campus Invites to the Gala Concert

 

On Thursday, March 30, a big concert of the campus will take place in the assembly hall of SUSU. "His Majesty Campus" is an event within the framework of which the history of the campus and the stages of its development will be shown. A standout theatrical show prepared by students will leave plenty of positive emotions. This show will let you know more about the entertaining life of students in the hostels.

Guests from China will participate in Odyssey of the Mind-2017

 

South Ural State University is holding 27 region competitions for participants of the international program for developing creative thought and team spirit, Odyssey of the Mind, on March 11th-12th with support from the Chelyabinsk Atomic Energy Informational Center.

For the first time, teams from the Republic of Tatarstan will be participating. More than 30 teams from Chelyabinsk and the Chelyabinsk Oblast will represent their solutions to difficult invention tasks. A team from the People’s Republic of China will be special guests to the competition.

Chelyabinsk Artist Presents the University with One of Her Works

 

Famous artist and monument sculptor Lyudmila Kostina is finishing her exhibition in the SUSU Art Hall. The exhibition was opened as a dedication to the 100-year anniversary of the two Russian revolutions and is called, “The past is passing before me…”.

SUSU Student Labor Squad “Orange” Becomes one of the Top Three Best in Russia

 

On February 20th in the Pushkin room, SUSU rector Aleksandr Shestakov met with representatives of the university’s Student Labor Squad Staff. The agenda included a summation of the squads’ work for the last year and plans for the future.

January 20 and 22 were the most interesting and fruitful for South Ural State University. Annually, the alma mater doesn’t sleep two days. This means that the SUSU Higher School of Electronics and Computer Sciences holds Global Game Jam 2017, the largest international competition for the development of computer games.
