At the end of 2015 the Information Center on interaction with the Middle East and North Africa countries was opened in SUSU in order to develop interrelations with the Arab world and the Middle East. The Head of the Department of International Cooperation Aleksandr Deev commented on the formation of this center, "The idea of this unique ground was conceived long ago. The interrelations between Russia and this region improve annually." The Information Center is aimed at interacting with the countries that are priority not only for SUSU but for Russia in the whole.
The Head of the Department of International Relations Kseniia Iakovets emphasized, “The Center has already results! In January 2016 the academic instructor of the Department of General Linguistics will visit Tehran University in order to upgrade the qualification and adopt the best practices of Iran Technical University. Iran is one of priority countries of the Middle East to work with.
The days of Arab culture are planned in the Center. In February 2016 the work on the sites of Russian Cooperation with Egypt and Jordan are planned. In addition, we are working on agreements for the possibility of participation in conferences and training at the sites of Arab countries and to create a database of events for students and academic instructors.
Also, the Center plans to help leading companies of Ural Federal District establish cooperation in the Middle East. Currently, the Center needs very active and motivated employees, and the Department of International Cooperation starts the requirement of volunteers. In this framework of activity you can get a lot of impressions, learn to work with foreign delegations and help Alma Mater in the development of international relations.
