The joint meeting on mechanical engineering and the defence industry was held at SUSU by the Chelyabinsk Regional Branch of the Russian Engineering Union and the Committee of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the Chelyabinsk Region.
Pavel Shilyaev, Vice-President of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the Chelyabinsk Region and General Director of Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works; Pavel Yakovlev, Chairman of the Chelyabinsk Regional Branch of the Russian Engineering Union, Member of the Board of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, General Director of Automobile Plant Ural; Aleksandr Goncharov, Executive Director of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and regional business ombudsman; and Pavel Ryzhiy, Head of the regional Ministry of Industry took part in the event.
Pavel Shilyaev addressed the audience via video conferencing. He congratulated the members of both organizations on the unification of the committees and wished productive work for the benefit of all enterprises.
During his welcome speech Aleksandr Goncharov noted: “The activity of the Committee for Mechanical Engineering and the Defence Industry are considered to be one of the most important, since it is namely this industry that has turned out to be at the forefront of solving the problems that the Russian Government sets before us. We expect the identification of systemic problems that hinder the development of mechanical engineering and proposals for their solution. We have experience of solving complex issues with the help of regional and federal governments and the State Duma. The Executive Directorate of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs is ready to provide the Committee with methodological, organizational and other support in its work.”
During the course of the meeting, the issues of collaboration between organisations were discussed, joint decisions on burning issues of the industry were elaborated and tasks for the apparatus for the next six months were also set.
"There are three leading public organisations in the Chelyabinsk Region: the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the South Urals Chamber of Commerce and Industry Union and the Russian Engineering Union. They have common goals: to support the enterprises that are members of these organisations. I believe that the synergy of the three associations will make it possible to obtain more prompt and significant results for all members," emphasized Pavel Yakovlev.
Also during the meeting the following issues were discussed: acute shortage of engineering personnel and ways to solve them, the tasks of building intra-regional cooperation and difficulties with the implementation of the state defence order. All questions and suggestions were recorded for analysis and development of a joint solution.
The Head of the Chelyabinsk Regional Branch of the Russian Engineering Union Sergey Kashigin spoke about the achievements of the association’s work in the region over the last 3 months.
Also in the course of the event, Pavel Yakovlev awarded the Certificate of Entry of the Politrans Plant into the ranks of the Russian Engineering Union to the founder of the enterprise, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mikar Group of Companies, Semyon Mitelman.
