On March 28th, Nataliia Korotina, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Security at the School of Economics and Management of South Ural State University, defended her doctoral dissertation.
Nataliia presented a research paper on the topic "Development of the Federal and Regional Economics in Spatially Heterogeneous Systems" to the SUSU Dissertation Council for Economic Sciences. Doctor of Sciences (Economics), Professor of the Department of Economic Theory, Regional Economics, and State and Municipal Management of the School of Economics and Management of South Ural State University Irina Danilova acted as the scientific consultant.
Members of the Dissertation Council marked the high scientific and practical significance and relevance of the study on regional economies in the structure of a large federal economy.
"This is a very mature work: a huge amount of information has been processed and critically comprehended, the idea of the work, goals and objectives, methodological tools have been proposed. A large federal economy is not just a new concept introduced into scientific circulation, it is a formed scientific concept and the beginning of a new scientific theory," noted Doctor of Sciences (Economics), Professor Olga Artemova in her speech.
One of the results of the dissertation research was the development of an algorithm for adjusting the institutions of the regulatory impact of the public administration system and its testing on the example of the Chelyabinsk Region, aimed at optimizing the economic regulation of spatial development through the formation of industrial clusters, special economic zones and territories of rapid socio-economic development.
For solving the scientific problem of developing theoretical principles and methodology for the development of a large federal economy with a heterogeneous space, substantiating the concept of development of regions and macroterritories taking into account functional specialization, substantiating and testing the methodology for assessing the results of regulation and methodological support for the transition to differentiated support for macroterritories that are important for the development of the federal economy and regions of the Russian Federation, the Dissertation Council decided to award Nataliia Korotina the academic degree of Doctor of Sciences (Economics) in the specialty "Regional and Industrial Economics (Regional Economics)."
