Ural International Integration Centre Established at SUSU

The ceremony of opening the Ural International Integration Centre was held at South Ural State University in a roundtable discussion format on January 28.

South Ural State University gathered directors of public associations and national cultural centres of the Chelyabinsk region, representatives of religious associations of the Southern Ural, and jurisprudence experts in the sphere of migration legislation.

SUSU Photo School Invites to Take Part in the Contest “Russia as Seen by Students”

Extracurricular Activities Department and the SUSU Photo School invite to take part in the photo contest “Russia as seen by Student”. Both professional and starting photographers under the age of 30 can apply.

Photos participating in the contest should be devoted to Russia and its various regions. Reflection of interesting and attractive aspects of international life, travel and tourism are welcomed in the photographs.

The contest is aimed at the patriotic education, engaging students in creative life and developing interest in Russia.

Chinese New Year is to be Celebrated at SUSU with Singing and Dancing

Chinese New Year is to be celebrated at South Ural State University on February 4. On the stage of SUSU Activity Hall, students from China will introduce their traditions of celebrating the main day of the year.

Ceremony of Awarding Diplomas to the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering Graduates Held at SUSU

On January 24, 2019 a ceremony of awarding diplomas to the graduates of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering was held. Forty engineers majoring in Design of Aircraft and Rocket Engines; Design, Manufacture and Operation of Rockets and Rocket-and-space Complexes; Aircraft and Helicopter Engineering; Ammunition and Fuze Mechanisms, graduated from the Faculty. Eight people were awarded diplomas with honours this year. Special diplomas were awarded for the best graduate qualification works.

Smart Electric Drive: Power Engineering Students Mastering Industry 4.0 Technologies in Project-Based Learning

The fourth industrial revolution, when digital production unites industry and digital technologies, has become a reality. People manage production with the help of digital technologies and the Internet, so traditional education techniques are already insufficient. Within SUSU’s project-based learning, the Department of Automated Electric Drive of the Faculty of Energy and Power Engineering of the Institute of Engineering and Technology trains students in technologies of managing smart electric drives at modern factories.

Copying Electronic Information: Ideas by SUSU Lawyers Fixed into Law

On January 8, 2019 the Russian Federation Federal Law No. 533-ФЗ as of 27.12.2018, which introduced Article 164.1 into the Russian Federation Criminal Procedure Code formalizing the procedures for the seizure of electronic media and copying information from them in the course of investigations. The appearance of this article was preceded by many years of work by lawyers, including researchers from South Ural State University.

SUSU Partners with Namangan Engineering-Construction Institute in Uzbekistan

South Ural State University is collaborating with many partner universities all around the world. On January 28th, the major university of the Chelyabinsk Region started its cooperation with Namangan Engineering-Construction Institute, Republic of Uzbekistan.

EUfactcheck Journalism Project is Gaining Momentum at SUSU

Starting from May of 2018, in the frameworks of project-based learning, students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at SUSU ISSH’s Faculty of Journalism are taking part in an international journalism project called EUfactcheck, organised by the European Journalism Training Association. The purpose of the project is to check information, organise fact checking and teach this process to the new generation of journalists.

RoboFest Festival Held at SUSU

On January 25th and 26th a regional round of RoboFest-2019 All-Russian Robotics Festival was held at South Ural State University. More than 400 kids from different cities of our region presented their robots.

Minister of Education and Science of the Chelyabinsk Region  Aleksandr Kuznetsov opened the event with his welcome speech.

Winners of the Global Game Jam Competition Announced at SUSU

The Global Game Jam game creation competition was held from January 25th through January 27th at the SUSU School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science. This year, 95 programmers took part in the competition. Participating in the Global Game Jam is the best way to begin developing a game, meet like-minded people, and fulfil your experimental ideas.

A New Programme of Professional Retraining Starts at SUSU

A professional retraining programme entitled Theory and practice of continuous professional education” starts at the Institute of Continuing Education (ICE). International Students of SUSU are Conquering Snowy Hills

In this academic year, there were several events organised for international students of South Ural State University that included active outdoor leisure.

One of the favourite activities of SUSU’s international students is snow tubing. This activity is held annually by the Sociocultural Adaptation Centre.

The students under the professional retraining programme on Pedagogical Technologies in a SMART-university have attended a lecture on Tutoring Attitude of a Teacher. The event was opened by Deputy Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Marina Potapova, who introduced to the audience their lecturer – Doctor of Sciences (Pedagogy), Professor of Moscow City University, President of the Interregional Tutor Association Tatiana Kovaleva.

SUSU International Students Took Part in Billiards Tournament

On January 15th a billiards tournament among international students of Chelyabinsk was held. 

Billiards is a favourite game of many international students, that is why this tournament has already become a traditional sports event being organised by the SUSU Association of International Students.

Project-Based Learning at the Institute of Law: Students to Offer a Model for Supporting the Professional Rights of Lawyers

Besides high levels of professionalism, lawyers working in the Russian system also need such traits as high resistance to stress and readiness to work in unusual situations. Within the project-based learning system, future lawyers at SUSU are working on a project which has no analogues in modern legal practice. In the course of the project, students will develop a model for supporting the professional rights of lawyers.
