SUSU Has Helped International Students to Master Russian

Students of the Course on Russian as a Foreign Language and Major-related Disciplines of the Centre for Continuing Education "Pre-University Division for Foreign Citizens" of South Ural State University have completed their training! Now the future international applicants are almost fluent in Russian and are ready to enrol in Russian universities.

On June 27, 2022 certificates confirming that the course graduates have mastered the В1 Russian were awarded to foreign citizens.

The 2022 Summer Aerospace Engineering Science-to-Practice School Wraps up at SUSU

June 27th through July 1st, the SUSU Aerospace Engineering Research and Education Centre and the SUSU Institute of Engineering and Technology organized the summer Aerospace Engineering Science-to-Practice School for Pupils at South Ural State University. The School aims at promoting scientific activity in Aerospace Engineering among pupils.

In the course of five days school pupils had an opportunity to try their hand in the profession of an engineer exploring the infinite outer space.

Scientists Look for Ways to Remove Microplastics from the Environment

Scientists from South Ural State University have been working with colleagues from India, South Korea, and Malaysia to study the sources of microplastic environmental pollution and have proposed ways to solve this problem, including reducing the use of microplastic in production, improving ways to detect hazardous particles in water and the atmosphere and remove them. These measures will help significantly reduce the pollution and improve the environment.

Scientists Develop New Environmentally-friendly Technology for Producing Iron and Steel

An international team of scientists from Russia and Austria have conducted a series of unique experiments to study the oxidative roasting of magnetite concentrate samples at different temperatures using the Rigaku Ultima IV high-temperature X-ray chamber. The new technology will reduce CO2 emissions by 40-60% by using hydrogen as a reducing agent. The Voestalpine plant (Austria) is pilot testing the technology.

Russian Scientists Synthesize New Antimicrobial Platinum Compounds

Scientists at South Ural State University have successfully created 34 new platinum compounds with confirmed antimicrobial activity. These compounds can be used in pharmaceuticals in the future. The results of their research have been published in the Journal of Coordination Chemistry.

SUSU Scientists Create an Environmentally Friendly Technology for Polyurethane Production

Scientists at South Ural State University are working with an industrial partner to create a new branch of the chemical industry in the Chelyabinsk Region. Within the Ural Research Centre project, it is planned to introduce a new green technology for polyurethane production and build a plant in the Chelyabinsk Region that will provide high-tech jobs for chemists, chemical technologists, and environmentalists.

Aigerim Ulan kyzy: “I believe that Russian education has many advantages”

Scientists have studied the strength of fiberglass for aircraft

Scientists from South Ural State University and Perm National Research Polytechnic University conducted a joint study of the deformation of reinforced fiberglass under repeated loads. The scientists got unique results on the accumulation of deformations and microdamage during cyclic bending of the composite. In addition, the team of scientists calculated a coefficient, which, if taken into account, can largely prevent the breakage of parts made from this composite.
