A photo entitled “Edinstvo” (“Unity”) by Oleg Igoshin, alumnus of SUSU’s Faculty of Journalism and nowadays Head of the university’s Production Photo Studio Laboratory and editor of the Internet Broadcasting department of the Marketing and Strategic Communications Department, is claimed the best at a contest of the World Journalism Education Congress (WJEC-5). The main goal of the contest for the best journalism artwork among higher schools of journalism around the world was to determine talented students and academics in the sphere of journalism education.
South Ural State University is a multinational higher education institution, in which studying are students from 52 countries. The majority of international students – more than 200 people – are representatives of Arab countries. April 5, SUSU is to organise the Arab Culture Day, where everyone interested will be able to get familiar with their customs and traditions.
March 26th through March 29th an International Conference on Industrial Engineering (Prom-Engineering) was held at South Ural State University.

Last weekend, tournaments in basketball and volleyball were held among international students of South Ural State University.
This was the first time that tournaments in volleyball and basketball were held for international students. Each competition featured 5 teams which competed for prize-winning places as well as for the title of the strongest team.
At the SUSU Centre of Testing and Language Training, foreign citizens can test their knowledge of Russian and obtain an international certificate.
This certificate is recognised by the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE), which has unified control in holding certified exams in foreign languages.
On the International Students’ Day, a match of all-time stars of the Student Hockey League is to be held at South Ural State University. A video conference entitled “Students meeting the outstanding Russian hockey player, coach Vladislav Tretiak” was held at SUSU.

The ceremony of awarding the Polytechnic ice hockey team, which celebrates its 70th anniversary, took place at SUSU. The athletes became bronze medalists in two championships.

A celebration of Nowruz was held at South Ural State University.
