Improving technological processes is one of the topical issues of modern science. A jet blower designed by the scientists of South Ural State University may be used both as a pump and a mixing pump in aerospace, mechanical engineering, heat-and-power, construction and oil sectors of industry.
Foreign and Russian students of SUSU will take part in the celebration. In the program of the event: songs, dances, competitions and congratulations of the best students of the outgoing year.
On December 22, South Ural State University’s Power Engineering Faculty celebrated the 66th anniversary since its foundation day. On the same day, the Faculty celebrated a professional holiday – the Power Engineer’s Day.
An event on the occasion of two holidays at a time, the Power Engineer’s Day and the Faculty’s Birthday, was held at SUSU. Dean of the Power Engineering Faculty, Sergey Gandzha, delivered a welcoming speech.
“Music of Translation” contest, organized by the SUSU Department of International Relations and Regional Studies, wrapped up at SUSU. This year, the contest did not just include students from South Ural State University, but also from Chelyabinsk State University, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, N.A. Dobrolyubov State Linguistic University of Nizhny Novgorod, V.I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University, and Ural Federal University named after the First President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin.
Joint work of South Ural State University and JSC SDB “Turbina” (a special design bureau, the only one in Russia and the nearabroad to be designing small gas-turbine engines and multifunctional gas-turbine power units) resulted in engineering of a line-up of 10 to 100 kW natural gas turbines in our country.
The scientists from South Ural State University are developing and manufacturing innovative educational and laboratory equipment, as well as software using 3D technologies. Using virtual educational equipment means that it is less expensive and more efficient to train top-ranked specialists.
A fourth-year student Anastasia Sohina and a first-year postgraduate student Ivan Kholodilin, the representatives of the Polytechnic Institute’s Department of Electric Drive and Industrial Automation returned with a victory in the contest of engineering projects which took place on December 7-8 within t
The park will be arranged on a 50-hectares area of the territory between Moldavskaya, Zakharenko, Beivelya and Kharisa Yusupova Streets. The concept will be based on the project by the SUSU students, which was chosen by the jury within the frameworks of a contest. A 30-meter observation tower with spirally ascending stairs will be the main attraction of the eco-park. The project is planned to be fulfilled next year already.
Starting from 2015 a system of elite education is being implemented at SUSU. This system is intended for those students who think about their future careers, and are willing to make efforts and spend their time to form basis for their future already now.
On December 22 the entire power engineering community of Russia celebrates the Power Engineer’s Day.
This is a professional holiday for workers of the industry which includes generating, transmission and consumption of electric and heat energy. The holiday originated in the distant 1920, when the well-known GOELRO plan was approved. Today, Russia is considered an energetic country which holds advanced positions in the world. It is very symbolic that the holiday concurred with the shortest light day of the year, when power engineers need to work their hardest.
Electronic magnetic waves affect both people and equipment negatively. This is why the creation of new, special materials for radio electronics has become relevant recently. “Creation of a New Functional Material” is the project which won the contest “Beginning of Big Science 2017”.
The Third All-Russian Contest of Multimedia Projects and Photography entitled “Mirror of Philosophy” came to an end. The contest of 2017, dedicated to 100th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution, turned out to be difficult but still very interesting and colorful.
In contestants’ works, many people discovered a lot of interpretations, images and meanings. The event gathered students, master’s degree students, schoolchildren from big cities and small suburbs, from central universities and rural schools – the number of participants exceeded 200 people.
Every year thousands of people find out about the dangerous diagnosis – oncology disease. All around the world, groups of scientists undertake multiple attempts to study the mystery of this disease’s origin and kill this disease. Modern methods of treatment of oncology diseases allow hoping for recovery or long-lasting remission. At that, psychological state of already-ill people plays an important role.
On December 19th a lecture on “Viktor Petrovich Polyanichko, Man and Citizen” under “Step into the Future” program was held at South Ural State University.
This lecture was attended by pupils of Chelyabinsk schools, coordinators of “Step into the Future” school programs, and members of the Executive Board of Chelyabinsk Regional Foundation “Future of Our Motherland” named after Viktor Polyanichko.
A team of scientists and engineers from the Polytechnic Institute of South Ural State University within the Project 5-100 invented highly used brushless electric motors for aerospace equipment.
Operating principle of such motor is the following: a system of constant highly efficient magnets on rare-earth elements is placed on the spinning part of the motor – the rotor; a system of conductive coils is placed on a stator. When switching current in these coils, the magnets start pursuing the travelling field and lug the rotor along.
The 5th forum exhibition VUZPROMEXPO-2017 was held on December 13th-14th in Moscow. This event is the summation of partnership between the state, universities, and industry from the last year. The country’s traditional leading universities presented the results of their realization of federal programs – leading developments in the industrial, medical, and agrarian fields and more.
On December 19, a discussion of plans for further development of legal education and science at SUSU were held during a briefing session of Heads of structural subdivisions of the Institute of Law.
Within the framework of Program 5-100 being fulfilled at the University more and more innovation technologies are being integrated into the training process at SUSU. The pedagogical arsenal of professors is constantly expanding with new non-standard solutions including timelines, video-lectures, educational kits of new training goals and many, many others (for more details on the new training technologies please visit the web-site “New Training Technologies”, Section “Tools”).
